Neograffiti Transfigurativo

Alexander is an exceptional self-taught artist; he actually went to school to be an engineer and worked for companies such as Pfizer. He is originally from Aguada, but now lives in Aguadilla with his beautiful, inspiring muse “his wife” Florencia. We had the opportunity to meet them and spend some time at their home, their kindness and humility was truly extraordinary. It was a night filled with laughter, philosophizing about life, a little wine and great conversations.

I was totally captivated by his work the very first time I saw it at his exposition in the Marriott Courtyard in Aguadilla.
His artwork is very distinctive, his style is so unique, his work expresses a human transformation and invokes an array of sensations as you move from one piece to the next. Working with textures such as the tabacco leaf he brings the canvas to life, it is as though the piece has emerged from the earth and is beautifully devouring the nude bodies. The tabacco leaves appear like roots, roots we all have, some of them are the roots we have above the ground.

Which we allow everyone to see, and the others are the ones we hide under the earth. In other pieces these roots are transformed into electricity shooting down from the heavens unleashing all of their energy on the human form. And yet in other works of art this seem more like the veins of the human figure trying to reconnect with the earth and the matrix.
Alexander likes to call his style transfigurative neograffiti and commented that he is trying to show a transformation in his artwork, a transformation that occurs in everyone. The poet Eric Landron, who along with Alexander has exposed a series rightfully called, pictuversos adequately describes Alexander Rosado Muñoz: “from his phosphorescent humility, today he has become, a more complete artist that touches and transforms that creates and recreates beauty and who quietly declares an intended aesthetic, which excites, reveals, gives hope and frees you.”
